Side trip to Barcelona

Tourist in Barcelona

I love Barcelona weather
Since from the very beginning, I have always been a fan of  artistic designs and arts. I love old churches for I have this feeling that they speaks of unique arts. I learned to love old churches when my cousin gave me a book entitled "The Great churches of the world.". In that book I came crossed the church in Barcelona called Sagrada Familia. Right there and then, I started dreaming to see the so called the greatest work for God.

I could never leave Europe without seeing this church so I booked a side trip to Barcelona, Spain. I got excited. Even if leaving Paris was a heart break, knowing that another dream will soon to come true made my adrenaline on its fast flow again.

I arrived Barcelona in the evening. From the airport, I took the aerobus going to the center of Barcelona. The bus' last stop is the Cataluna Plaza.6 Euro I headed to the center of Barcelona called Cataluna.  From there I took another bus going to Monumental train station where my hostel was suited. The hostel charges 8 Euro for a night in a 6 bed female dorm. The only disadvantage staying in this hostel is that it is a bit far from the city proper yet close to Sagrada Familia. It was late already when I arrived Barcelona. All the establishments were close. I just decided to sleep and call it a day.

The following day I started my journey early. I took the metro to Barceloneta train station and started my walk towards La Rambla street where most, if not all tourist attractions are located.

WHERE TO START OFF : From Barceloneta Station start from Museu d' Historia de Catalunya walking straight the street of Passeig Colon.

The Mirador de Colom

Saint Paul's Church

Antic Hospital de la Santa Creu

MUST SEE: I am a big big or let say huge huge fan of the famous architect, Antonio Gaudi who is known as the face of Barcelona for his countless contribution to the beautification of the City. Since I am a huge fan, I have to see his works and the greatest one of all is his unfinished work, the Sagrada Familia.

One of many Antonio Gaudi's works - Casa Batllo

The rush of coming to Barcelona was worth it! Seeing the Sagrada has melted my heart... I was breathless... (literally!) =) Here's some of my photos of the Sagrada Familia.
