When in Rome

This is the longest backpacking adventure I have done (Well, so far...) For two weeks, I settled with different rooms shared with strangers who became my friends and I managed the fact that my only cabinet was my backpack, my only treasure was my instinct and my bestfriends are my camera and the maps. It was FUN FUN FUN!!!! =)

My Last trip - ROME!!!!

My beer and pizza breakfast

I took vueling airlines from Barcelona to Rome. From Rome International airport, I took a bus going to Roma terminal (center of Roma) for 12 Euro round trip. From Roma terminal, it takes 5 minutes walk going to the hostel I booked named Hostel Beautiful. I got so lucky when I check in since the receptionist is a Filipina who was so helpful during my whole stay in Rome. I booked a 6 mixed room yet she was good enough to put me in a 3 mixed bed room. The hostel was average yet the location is so perfect for a backpacker like me. Two things I love about the this hostel is their old style elevator (which I missed when I left) and the nice free traditional Italian breakfast. I settled my stuff inside the room and started my journey in the streets of Roma. From Roma terminal, I walked from the street of Via Cavour. Gone sight seeing. Here's a list of places and things you will love when in Rome! And mind you, you don't really need to take a tour package. As long as you the skills in map reading, a spirited soul seeking for adventure and a good camera to capture nice memories - then you can survive walking in Rome! Here's a list of places you can visit by feet.

SANTA MARIA MAGGIORE: Where the said raining of petals happened way back. A very nice place to visit and a must see.  My tummy was already making crazy sound, asking for breakfast so I decided to stop and look for something to grab. My breakfast???? Pizza and beer! Only happens in Rome!!!

SANTA MARIA MAGGIORE

COLOSSEO: Became historical during the old age. I first knew about the Colosseo when I was in my 5th grade where we were ask to do a project about different famous structures in Italy. And this was my choice, I made a miniture Colosseo, never releasing that I would see it for real one day. There will be many tourist in this place so I really suggest that you come early to avoid the long lining people. Ticket costs 12 Euro.

TREVI FOUNTAIN: Making a wish by throwing a coin over your shoulder will bring you back to Rome. Oh God knows how much I was in cloud nine. I always see the trevi fountain in many movies shoot in Rome and I really told myself that I will see this fountain one day. And here I am. This is just a proof that when you dream of something you really have to work for it to happen.

My love - The Trevi fountain

EATING THE FAMOUS GELATO: Of course what else to do in Rome - E.A.T!!!! This is the reason why I fell in love with Rome from day 1.

SPANISH STEPS: Of course everyone is familiar with this place. It is always in every movie filmed in Rome. The famous Spanish Steps lead from the Piazza di Spagna up to the Trinita Church. The staircase was constructed between 1723 and 1725 in the Roman Baroque style and is the longest and widest in Europe

FOUNTAINS and ARTS: Which Rome is famous for!!! In every corners of Rome, you will definitely see a fountain. Some have history and story and some are just for display. If there is one thing I love about Rome is how beautiful the streets are because of fountains and very pretty structures.

THE PEOPLE: Rome has one of the most lovely people in the world.

AND OF COURSE SHOPPING: Well, just an add on!!! =) Only in Rome I have seen crazy shoppers, from one LV shop to a Prada shop... Shopping like there is no tomorrow!

Limited Edition of Chuck Taylor *heaven*
Eating in Rome is not a problem too. Everywhere in the street you will find restaurants, serving same food like pizza, pasta and beer.
